Sustainable architecture

At Grupo Trejos we believe that building also carries a responsibility to the environment.

That is why we promote sustainable, conscious architecture, making the most of each site’s natural conditions and adapting our proposals to the specific characteristics of the land.

Our goal is to avoid unnecessary intervention and to develop solutions that work with the landscape instead of imposing on it.

What we study on every site

  • Topography

We follow the natural shape of the land to move less earth and make the most of the views.

  • Orientation

We place rooms and openings according to the sun’s path to control heat.

  • Ventilation

We design for cross-ventilation so spaces rely less on air conditioning.

  • Daylight

We aim for bright spaces during the day that need less artificial light.

  • Climate

Each region has its own rain, humidity and temperature. The design responds to them.

  • Terrain

The soil conditions guide the foundations and the construction system.

More efficient construction

This philosophy drives us toward more efficient and responsible construction, using, whenever the project allows, materials, technologies and building systems that reduce environmental impact and improve building performance.
