Building in Jacó and the Central Pacific

Homes, buildings and hospitality projects designed for humidity, heavy rain and hillside lots with ocean views.

In Jacó and the Central Pacific it rains hard for much of the year, the air is warm and humid, and many lots sit on hillsides facing the ocean. These conditions reward good design and punish shortcuts.

At Grupo Trejos we account for them from the first sketch. The same team stays with the project from the idea to handover.

What building in the Central Pacific asks for

  • Rainwater

Water is handled in the design itself: roofs, gutters, slopes and drainage planned for heavy downpours.

  • Hillsides

On a sloped lot, the topography and the soil determine the foundations and how the building sits on the land. We follow the natural shape of the terrain to move less earth.

  • Humidity

We choose materials and finishes that stand up to constant humidity, and spaces that ventilate well.

  • Views and breeze

We place rooms to make the most of the view and the breeze, with enough shade to use them through the day.

  • Near the ocean

Near the coast we take care of the elements exposed to salt air.

What we build

We design and build homes, apartment buildings, and commercial and hospitality projects, in Jacó and across the Central Pacific.

One team, from design to handover

Design, planning, technical advice and construction with one team. You have a single point of contact from the first idea to handover, including if you follow the build from a distance.

How we work

Do you have a lot, an idea or a project underway?

Tell us what you want to build. From the first conversation we review the design, budget and feasibility with you.
